Meet Subaru Rally Team Member Travis Pastrana
August 24, 2010 by SUBARULOVERS, under Featured Vehicles, Subaru Performance, Uncategorized.

Subaru’s Rally team is hot! Driver Travis Pastrana, recent winner of the 2010 Olympus Rally near Aberdeen and Ocean Shores Washington (his second win this year) is currently ranked 3rd overall in the 2010 Championship standings. A silver medalist at the ESPN X Games 15 at the Home Depot Center in Los Angeles, Pastrana narrowly gave up the gold to fellow racer Kenny Brack, a former winner of the Indi 500. In an effort to out-race Brack, Pastrana clipped a cement barrier with the right front wheel of his Subaru, nearly ripping the wheel from his car, and forcing him to finish 2nd place.
Originally from Annapolis, Maryland, Pastrana started out as a freestyle motocross racer, rising to stardom and winning the World Freestyle Championship at age 14. He has been credited with inventing some of most difficult stunts in motocross. Switching his focus to rally racing-a sport he calls “motocross with a roll-cage,” allowed him to become a legend in yet another extreme venue. He has consistently raced Subarus since his debut. In 2006, Pastrana became the youngest American rally champion at age 23 and has defended this top position ever since. He earned a spot on the podium more than 36 times with 19 first-place wins.
He has received medals at all 4 X Games rally events, two of them gold, and now stars in the hit MTV series Nitro Circus. However, Pastrana’s fame hasn’t changed his humble personality. He has been known to spend hours signing autographs and taking pictures with his fans at events and appearances.
