New Subaru Ad Aims for the Heart

You can’t help but smile or even shed a tear when watching the honesty in this new Subaru ad. Their goal was to play on the emotional effects of a daughter leaving the nest from a father’s perspective, and they nailed it. Using a real family from Miami, FL, allows you to truly feel the heart warming connection between the father and daughter.
This moment is a landmark in most parent/child relationships, and trusting a vehicle is important. Subaru is confident in their brand and the safety of their vehicles, and the marketing team had a specific message to send the targeted audience. Subaru is a car you can trust with your child.
USA Today even recognized the heartfelt message in this new ad, and got insight from the director of marketing communication at Subaru of America:
“Most parents dread that moment when their children first take the wheel alone. It’s momentous. We talked about this with our agency, Carmichael Lynch and we loved the idea of building a story around that moment through the eyes of the father.”
Subaru is a trusted brand. What better way to share that message than with a story of family, love and trust? The recognition of quality has been building for years, and with current record breaking sales, it’s clear America is finally catching on. We’ve known the quality speaks for itself, so our only job, as the dealer, has been to spread the word. Hopefully more and more people will begin to love these cars.
