Subaru Superstore Report: 2012 Impreza XV Pictures Spotted

Subaru Superstore has just discovered the first pictures of the 2012 Subaru Impreza XV, which leaked on the web following a patent filing.

Rumors of an Impreza XV (which some were calling the Outback Sport) surfaced after the Shanghai Motor Show, where Subaru debuted the XV Concept pictured above. The Subaru XV Concept looks like an Outback (hence the nickname “Outback Sport”), but is a substantially smaller crossover featuring a full-length panoramic roof and “silvery white leather” seating for five.

The Outback Sport rumors seemed to have been squashed after the 2011 New York Auto Show in April, however, when Subaru’s U.S. product manager told AutoBlog: “It’s probably not for us, but we’re looking at it. And if it did come, it probably wouldn’t be called Outback Sport.”

Flash forward three months later, and it appears the new crossover is for the U.S. Subaru just filed a patent for a car it identifies as the 2012 Subaru Impreza XV, which appears to draw inspiration from the XV Concept revealed at the Shanghai Motor Show.

Going by the patent photos of the 2012 Impreza XV, the production model appears to have aggressive fascias, an increased ride height and extended fender flares. Engine options remain a mystery, but it’s assumed to have a 2.0-liter four-cylinder drive train.

The 2012 Subaru Impreza XV is likely to hit local Subaru dealers by 2012, including our Subaru dealer in Chandler, Arizona. In the meantime, check out the current and most popular Subaru crossover, the 2011 Subaru Outback, in our online inventory, or stop by our Chandler Subaru dealership this weekend to test drive it in person. The 2012 Subaru Impreza will also go on sale at out Chandler Subaru dealership November 13 when it makes its debut at the 2011 Battle of the Brands Car Show!

Subaru WRX is Official Escape Vehicle of Zombie Apocalypse

July 28, 2011 by , under Dealership News, Events, Subaru WRX.

Blood-thirsty zombies chasing you? Don’t bother running or standing your ground to fight – just jump in your all-wheel drive WRX and high-tail it out of there!

Subaru has just announced it is “The Official Escape Vehicle of the Zombie Apocalypse,” a (fake…we think) zombie-infested 5K obstacle course race to be held October 22 in Baltimore.

The event, called Run for Your Lives, pits runners against a horde of zombies attempting to take them down. Participants run through the woods in a 5K course littered with 12 man-made obstacles in an attempt to reach the finish line without losing their “health flags” to zombies hidden throughout the course. At the end of the race, participants celebrate their survival (or zombie transformation) with live entertainment and music, vendors, food and beer. Winners are invited to return to the event next year to lead a team of zombies against other would-be survivors, while anyone who has their health flags completely stolen is declared a zombie on the spot.

Subaru is the official sponsor of Run for Your Lives, and has made its WRX speed-demon the Official Escape Vehicle of the Zombie Apocalypse. Why? Because the WRX is capable of sprinting from 0 to 60 in just 5 seconds and comes equipped with an off-road minded suspension – perfect for a go-anywhere-and-fast escape from zombies.

You can get you very own Zombie Escape Vehicle at Subaru Superstore in Chandler, Arizona – which has one of the largest selections of WRX, WRX STI and other Subaru models in the Southwest.

Subaru Retools Its Brand to Appeal to Warm-Weather Drivers

July 26, 2011 by , under Dealership News, New Subaru Models, Subaru News.

Subaru has always been known as an all-weather vehicle, which has little appeal to consumers in warm-weather states like Arizona. After all, who’s going to be impressed by a commercial featuring a Subaru vehicle performing in snow and mud when you live in Phoenix?

Subaru is attempting to shed its wintery-weather reputation by expanding its marketing campaign beyond its niche “tough winter” market in the Northern U.S. states to broaden its appeal to consumers in the Southern and Western states. Subaru’s new marketing campaign includes emphasizing its vehicles’ safety and reliability over the performance of it famous all-wheel drive technology, and retooling its vehicles to make them roomier and more fuel-efficient.

This new image began with the redesigned version of its Impreza sedan, set to go on sale at Subaru Superstore and other Subaru dealers later this summer. The 2012 Impreza is much sleeker and roomier than the older version and has received a 10 mpg boost from last year’s 27 mpg to 37 mpg highway. (Read about the features of the new 2012 Impreza and see photos here.)

For the last few years, Subaru has been one of the smallest but fastest growing auto brands in the U.S. During the recession, when most automakers’ sales stalled, Subaru’s forged ahead with a 41% sales increase between 2008 and 2010. This was due in large part to the new Outback wagon, which – like the 2012 Impreza – is sleeker, wider and better on gas than the previous version.

If you live in Arizona or another warm-weather state and haven’t checked out a Subaru lately, it’s about time you did. Subaru Superstore offers one of the largest selections of new and used Subaru models in the Southwest, and has a solid reputation for online sales and interstate delivery to customers living too far from our Chandler, Arizona Subaru dealership.

Subaru Superstore May Get Four New Models by 2016

Subaru Superstore has just learned that Fuji Heavy Industries has released a new five-year plan for Subaru that calls for at least three new models and a hybrid vehicle to hit local Subaru dealers by 2016.

Subaru “Motion-V” Plan

The new strategy, called “Motion-V,” is part of a new game plan by Subaru to draw in an ever-larger fan base by attempting to boost its U.S. sales by 40% by 2016.

Under the 5-year plan, Subaru will continue to build on its expertise in safety technology and driving performance, while constantly addressing environmental issues in order to offer environmentally friendly solutions. The new Subaru model lineup will feature advanced technological pre-crash safety features like the EyeSight, Subaru’s unique Active Driving Assist System that uses stereo camera technology.

2013 Subaru Hybrid

The Subaru Motion-V announcement that has people the most excited is news that the company will be launching the first Subaru hybrid model. The 2013 Subaru Hybrid is rumored to be based on the automaker’s Hybrid Tourer concept (pictured above) and built on the Legacy or Impreza platform.

The Subaru Hybrid and other new Subaru models will be welcome additions to Subaru Superstore’s current lineup of Subaru models. See our online inventory of Subaru models, and then stop by our Chandler Subaru dealership this weekend for a test drive.

Subaru Superstore Learns Impreza & WRX Will Part Ways

Subaru Superstore has just learned that the Subaru Impreza and WRX – joined at the hip since 1992 – are going their separate ways.

The change in direction should have been evident when Subaru debuted the 2012 Impreza at this year’s New York Auto Show but didn’t mention any plans for a new production WRX. Now we know that’s because Subaru plans on taking the WRX in a completely different direction and will not produce a new one until 2014.

The announcement, apparently, came right from the horse’s mouth. Subaru president Ikuo Mori announced at a recent shareholder’s meeting, “We will launch a new sporty car in 2014,” referring to the WRX.

The rumor mill is swirling, but MotorTrend just revealed it has learned from a source that the 2014 WRX will be completely different from then Impreza and will employ totally different components. Their source also tells them that Subaru bosses haven’t decided if the WRX name will survive.

An artists rendering of the 2014 WRX was published on MotorTrend.com (pictured above), but MotorTrend makes sure to note that “this is just one vision of the new car, it may turn out to look much different.”

According to the MotorTrend article:

“Apart from a few nuts and bolts, every part on the WRX will be unique. Even the engine and body. Obviously the WRX’s platform will be inherited from the new Impreza, but it will be radically modified and significantly shortened,” says our source.

From now on, the Impreza will be the company’s core model, boasting a fuel-efficient, naturally aspirated 2.0-liter boxer engine. The car’s wheelbase has been slightly lengthened, while the A-pillar has been brought forward to maximize interior space and comfort levels. At this point, it is unclear if Subaru will attempt an Impreza-based performance model to bridge the gap until the new WRX arrives, but it appears unlikely.

“Up until now, the Impreza and WRX used many common parts, which translated into entry-level Imprezas that were over-engineered,” the source continued. The basic chassis and suspension had to employ certain parts needed for the WRX. That drove costs up, and many entry-level customers did not want or understand the significance of such high-tech parts, stresses our insider.

The WRX, on the other hand, will employ the very best from Subaru’s parts bin, starting with an updated version of the company’s rally-proven AWD system and a turbocharged boxer engine.

“The first thing you must understand about our all-new WRX is that we have developed it from the ground up to win in motorsports events. That’s why we have focused so heavily on weight issues, not to mention a shorter wheelbase that permits faster, more precise turn-in. Marry that to our proven AWD system, and we think we have a winner,” explains our source.

You can check out the current WRX model at Subaru Superstore, Chandler’s go-to Subaru dealer serving the greater Phoenix area. The 2012 Impreza will arrive at our Chandler Subaru dealership in November, when it makes its debut November 13 at the 2011 Battle of the Brands Car Show.

Subaru Succeeds by Eliminating Waste

June 7, 2011 by , under Dealership News, Environmentally Friendly, Green Vehicles, Subaru Value, Uncategorized.

Subaru is proud to be one of the major auto companies planning for our future generations and it sure has paid off!

“REMEMBER tomorrow, RECYCLE today” is a saying that Subaru has been acting upon since day one of operation.  In it’s 22 years of manufacturing history, Subaru has dealt with many disasters that surely could have lead to epic downfalls in its business, but that hasn’t been the case.  Massive U.S auto bankruptcies and a global financial crisis are just a few of the events that normally would have negative effects upon the auto industry.  Subaru has come up with it’s own unique eco-friendly ways of manufacturing that  has helped the company achieve one of the highest success ratings in the United States today.

Working to promote a healthier lifestyle for the upcoming generations, and also providing their workers with a “clean and green” workplace, makes us very proud to be representing Subaru in Arizona.

MSNBC tells about Subaru’s accomplishments and how being environmentally friendly has helped the company out in the long-run.  To learn more about Subaru’s alternative success story click here.
