I purchased my 2009 WRX in August of 2009. It just so happened to be my birthday the day I signed the papers for my new vehicle. I knew little about my new Subaru but loved the concept of an AWD vehicle with turbo-charged power that can eat V8′s for breakfast. I’ve discovered new places with my WRX and found mud where mud shouldn’t be in it. In 2010, I developed back issues which limit my flexibility and movement. Not a problem for the WRX, since the smooth suspension glides over the roughest roads and off road paths.
As of now, I’ve got my husband to purchase a 2011 WRX, my brother the 06 STi and my friend an 07 Sti. We are surely a growing family of Subaru Love.

Before I bought my first Subaru, I thought I knew it all when it came to reliability, nimbleness and pure enjoyment. I was very wrong. My first experience consisted of an adrenalin induced high speed test drive both on and off the road with precise control as I was directed to punch the gas and turn hard left into a gravel pit. I walked away a Subaru owner and promotor from that day forward.

I began to drive for days end, seeking over the hills and through the woods experiences. My proudest moments were towing a 4×4 out of 3 feet of mud, driving back into the big city, barely able to see through mud caked windows. A pit stop along the way to wipe off the headlights as dusk prevailed was a true testament to forever seeking similar engagements. I was sad to finally break down and wash what I considered was the best paint job a car could display.

My wife bought her Subaru in 2009, and we have been growing the Subaru Community ever since. Just sharing the Subaru love. I have to say this is the first Subaru I’ve owned, and the best car I’ve ever had.

I always dreamed of owning a WRX and never could afford one, that is until my big break! Let me explain. About a year and a half ago, I traded in my truck, which as soon as I bought it, the economy took a dump and the truck’s value disappeared. I owed 8k more then what it was worth, so the dealer got me into a Chevy Cobalt. Not what I wanted, but I was willing to take it because I needed to get my payments down.

They asked if I wanted to purchase gap insurance, and me working at an insurance agency knew to buy it. About a month went by and I was on my way home, and a guy not paying attention T-Boned me and sent me into the curb totaling my Cobalt. So sad! (Sarcasm) My gab kicked in and paid off my negative equity and one week later I purchased a 2007 WRX TR in White Pearl. OMG what have I been missing all these years?!

The Car looked amazing and drove like a Dream! That is until a girl I was dating..her ex-boyfriend decided to dump brake fluid on it during the night and I got to come out to find all the paint oxidized, lights lens melting, and my hood scoop & spoiler were bubbling. The car cosmetically was ruined. My insurance company paid it off as a totaled vehicle with 21k miles on it. I was depressed and looking for a new vehicle, that is until I found a 2009 WRX with 12k miles and I got so say it again..Subaru how do you do it? This car is Amazing! I have took it to Colorado, Payson offroad to go shooting. I have not met its match!

So, what I’m saying is “dream hard and get rewarded in life”. I’ll be a Subaru fan for LIFE!

I bought my 2003 WRX brand new. Trying to find an automatic one was a daunting task, but I finally found one. For almost 8 years, I had not one problem with my car! My Subie was driven daily to work, but it also made several treks from NJ to GA and back, as well as from NJ to AZ when we moved here in 2008. It never saw an accident, a ticket, and never left me stranded on the side of the road. Except for a couple of minor recalls, and routine maintenance, it never saw a dealership service center either.

The reason why I decided to trade in my less than 3 year old Toyota for a Subaru was mainly because I had nothing but problems with my Toyota. Add a little snow to the ground, and I wasn’t going anywhere! My boyfriend (who now happens to be my husband), had a 2002 WRX, so I knew it was a great car to own. My mom had a 1997 Legacy Outback, so I was no stranger to Subaru. In fact, I’ve completely lost count as to how many Subarus we’ve had over the last nine years, but it’s definitely in the double digits.

Our “his-and-hers” matching WRX’s brought us some local fame, and after we started going to some Subaru meets in our area, we made some friendships that have lasted almost a decade. Even when others traded in their Subies for something else, we still continued to meet up with them.

Subaru isn’t just about a great, reliable car; it’s about community as well. My Subaru helped create many friendships in my life, and these are people who will be in my life a long time. The cars were the catalyst that brought us together, and even though the cars may be replaced, the bonds still remain.

Yo duuuude!

Got your FB post this am…you know me too well…always an adventure up my sleeve, indeed – especially since it’s summertime.

Well, as we last wrote, I was thinking about buying a BMW 135i, a Lotus Elise or a John Cooper Works MINI Cooper S. All are great, fun summer cars with convertible options…however, in thinking about the practicality of a convertible, and the fact I have a dermatologist who has me watching my skin constantly, I figured I was playing with fire getting a car that allowed the sun to hit my face and head directly the entire time I was driving. Plus the upkeep cost of the Lotus wasn’t looking great and the Bimmer is overpriced, IMHO.

So I went into “Plan B” mode…as I still wanted fun, different, fast and something that fits my ‘always looking for the next adventure,’ style…not some “kiddie car.”

Drum roll, please: so, at 12pm today I pick up my very own 2010 Subaru WRX STI Special Edition hot hatch! The whippets are going to LOVE this car; it’s almost as fast as they are!

This car screams FAST and FUN, and it’s a real, street-legal RACECAR! Say a prayer for me I don’t get any tickets this summer…as a manual 6-speed with 305 horsepower and 290lbs of torque it’s gonna be tough. 0-60 in 4.5 seconds… yikes, that’s Porsche power. I also plan to take her to Pocono Raceway next summer for a “drive your own car” track day; can’t wait!

Back story: I dropped off my Legacy GT for inspection yesterday at the dealer and test drove the STI SE fresh off the delivery truck (still in its white shipping wrap) and simply fell in love. It only has 7 miles on it (6 from my test drive yesterday) and they’re only making 500 of these bad boys – see the link below for pictures. Of course I’m still keeping my ’05 Legacy GT, as she is a killer car too and is paid-off next month with only 40k miles on her. She also just got 4 new high-performance tires, new belts, an oil change, air filter and PA inspection yesterday, and has never needed anything more than the Subie mileage recommendations, so she’s good-to-go as my snow and winter car. Thus, the STI SE instantly becomes my summer wheels!

YAHOO – and to boot, I’m still sticking with Subaru as a brand – a company you know I LOVE! The dealer also totally hooked-me-up with a few options at a great price…especially as this is the 4th Subaru I’ve purchased from them in the past 8 years, and my 5th Subaru. A “good customer reward,” if you will.

Hope all is well in your neck of the woods. I look forward to re-connecting soon, Chad.

I also hope your Subaru is still treating you as well as mine are!
Vrooooooooom, vroooooooooooom, SUBARUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!

Best,
Chris

Mine will be in the Dark Grey Metallic with black alcantera suede and leather interior with red STI piping…BRING IT!

So, my story starts with me getting a ’93 Subaru Loyal forward 3 speed. The auto didn’t run and it ended up being a a fuel pump so I ended up rigging a vw jetta pump in and drove the car for 6 months. I ended up buying the correct pump not long after, so i had big plans. I wanted to rally but couldn’t do that in a forward too well, so i acquired a ’88 4×4 Subaru GL Wagon. Then, I started to tear it apart to swap it into my Loyal!

Well, it wouldn’t start so I tried to fix that first. I then found out the wagons key wouldn’t start the car, so I went to arc the starter it turned over. YAY! Well, the fuel pump unbenonst to me was stuck on so as I started to pull the spark plugs it slowly filled the cylinders. I got all the plugs out arced the starter and was sprayed from my chest up with gas. It startled me so i dropped my wrench and it fell and arced the battery which in seance lit me on fire! Luckily, my friend was there to put me out. He did that very thing and I stood up and went back to working on my car. My friends were freaking out at this point telling me to sit down and they finally convinced me. When i looked down at my arms is when everything fell apart. Forty percent of my body was beyond 3rd degree burns i spent 3 1/2 weeks in the hospital skin graphs and all.

When I was released to go home, I had arrived to find my Loyal on stands. When I went in it was running well, but while i was there I found out that my friends had done the 5 speed 4×4 swap for me! I ended up working and helping them finish the car in casts. Within the next few days im happy to inform you all I had 100 % recovered and i ended up driving the Loyal for 2 years with the origanal engine which lasted me 590,000 miles. As sad as it is though, that car is now gone. Do not worry though, I now have a ’85 Subaru RX Turbo Sedan with the same body style as my Loyal. The RW is in the garage getting a JDM 2.0 tt engine and im happy to say I do love my Subaru and always will.

My Loyal made me realize who my real friends were and how people can come together over one little everyday car. Thanks for listening! My name is Brandon and I love my Subaru.

Growing up as a kid I grew up into a family of Subaru’s, every year dad went and bought the latest and greatest Subaru wagon. we were always a road tripping family with 2 kids 2 dogs and mom and dad in the Subaru, I learned how to drive a 5spd in a Subaru, and steer on occasion on a straight empty highway, so you could say I first drove a Subaru. By then I vowed from those days on that I was eventually going to own a Subaru just like my dad. In march of 2009 I found my Subaru hiding in the back of a used car lot, it had only 85,000mi on it and was a one owner car, I paid 1500$ for the car. It has driven me everywhere I’ve wanted to go, and has by far been the best car I have ever owned.. It certainly was a dream come true, I wouldn’t sell it for any amount of money, thanks Subaru for an awesome car!
