Subaru Outback Named “Best Resale Value” by Kbb.com
November 29, 2011 by SUBARULOVERS, under Subaru Outback.
Want to know which wagon holds the best resale value? Just ask Kelley Blue Book, which just named the Subaru Outback the best wagon money can buy.
The Subaru Outback just nabbed top honors as best wagon on kbb.com’s 2012 Best Resale Value list, which recognizes current and forthcoming vehicles that are projected to retain the best value through the first five years of ownership.
Since depreciation (or loss of value) is typically a car buyer’s primary expense during ownership, these awards, like all of kbb.com’s new- and used-vehicle information, are designed to help consumers make more informed car-buying decisions.
This is the second year in a row the Subaru Outback has been named the best resale value in the wagon segment. Also making kbb.com’s Best Resale Value list last year was the Subaru Impreza WRX in the “sports car” category.

Best Cars for Surviving the Zombie Apocalypse
November 17, 2011 by SUBARULOVERS, under Subaru Outback, Subaru WRX.
As 2011 rolls to an end and 2012 approaches, we can’t help but wonder if the Mayans’ prediction that the world will end will come true. And if it does, how will it pass?
If pop culture is any indication, the end of the world will come at the hands of flesh-eating zombies, which are popular fodder for TV shows and movies right now. That’s why we love this article from U.S. News World & Report, which lists the “Five Best Cars for Surviving the Zombie Apocalypse.”
Making the list is the Subaru Outback. Here’s why:
Because they tend to get better gas mileage than SUVs, wagons have a natural advantage as a zombie-fighting tool. But, because they also tend to be lower to the ground, wagons have a significant disadvantage. If you run over a zombie, he might get stuck in your undercarriage, making you a sitting duck for the rest of the zombies. The Subaru Outback is a nice cross between a wagon and an SUV. It has 8.7 inches of ground clearance, which is good enough for running over most zombies; just try and steer around the obese ones. Standard all-wheel drive means you’ll have traction even when the ground is slick with zombie gore. Inside, the Outback has 34.3 cubic feet of cargo space behind the back seat, and standard roof rails, which are perfect for carrying the supplies you’ll need (don’t forget your chainsaw). The Outback’s seats are extremely roomy and comfortable, and the back seats even recline, so people who aren’t on zombie watch can catch a few benign z’s while riding to safety. As a bonus, the Outback has some of the best crash test scores a car can get, so if zombies cause you to wreck, you may still be able to flee on foot.
Wagons without braaains: Because it’s available with all-wheel drive or a diesel engine, you might be tempted to select the Audi A3 for outrunning zombies. Just know that if you do, you’ll be paying more than you would for the Outback while also giving up lots of passenger and cargo space. Also, J.D. Power and Associates gives the A3 pretty low ratings for predicted reliability. The last thing you want in the face of an advancing zombie horde is a blown fuel sensor.
Want something a little faster than the Subaru Outback? Try the WRX speed-demon, which is the Official Escape Vehicle of the Zombie Apocalypse thanks to its ability to dodge zombies with its off-road minded suspension and capability to go 0 to 60 in 5 seconds.
Check out a video of the WRX in action above, and then high-tail it to Subaru Superstore in Chandler to pick out your Zombie Apocalypse Escape Vehicle before the Mayan calendar ends!

Subaru Superstore Report: Subaru Outback Named “2011 Best Car for Families”
September 28, 2011 by SUBARULOVERS, under Dealership News, Subaru Outback.
Choosing a family car is one of the most important buying decisions you will make, and one of the most difficult. With so many vehicles to choose from, how do you know which vehicles are the best for families?
The answer, of course, depends on your budget and the size of your family. But it also helps to have recommendations from a trusted source like Kiplinger’s, which recently compiled a list of the 2011 Best Cars for Families.
Topping the list as one of the best cars for families was the Subaru Outback, which boasts 34.3 cubic feet of cargo space for strollers and other gear, 29 mpg highway, and positive reviews from parents. It also received the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s Top Safety Pick – which means it received the top rating not only for front, side and rear crash tests but also for roof-strength rollover tests. Traction control, stability control and six airbags also come standard.
Oh, and did we mention it has the best resale value out of any other wagon?
Here’s what Kiplinger’s had to say about the Subaru Outback being one of its Best Cars for Families:
Subaru’s Outback grew to even more generous, family-friendly proportions with its 2010 redesign. Kiplinger’s Best in Class wagon offers more rear legroom than any of its wagon peers, and its taller height makes installing safety seats easier.
The cargo area is roomy and comes with a removable tray to protect the carpet. The Outback is tops for resale value among wagons, too.
You can check out the family-friendly Subaru Outback at Subaru Superstore – the largest Subaru dealership serving Chandler, Phoenix, Mesa and Tempe.

Subaru Outback Earns “Lowest True Cost to Own” Award
August 8, 2011 by SUBARULOVERS, under Subaru News, Subaru Outback.
Looking for a vehicle that’s going to cost you the least amount of money over the next five years? You might want to look into buying the Subaru Outback, which has just made Edmunds.com’s list of the 2011 Lowest True Cost to Own (TCO) awards.
The TCO awards are given to the top models in the Sedan, Wagon, Coupe, Convertible, Truck, SUV, Minivan/Van and Hybrid categories that have the lowest cost of ownership over a five-year period.
Among the winners of the 2011 Lowest True Cost to Own awards was the new 2011 Subaru Outback wagon, which provides many popular SUV traits – like standard all-wheel drive, generous cargo space, and crossover versatility – without all the drawbacks (like low fuel economy).
Edmunds.com’s True Cost To Own (TCO) awards are designed to help car buyers easily compare the total five-year cost of buying and owning a vehicle – including some items buyers may not normally take into consideration. These factors include depreciation, interest on financing, taxes and fees, insurance premiums, fuel, maintenance, repairs and any federal tax credit that may be available.
Based on all these different variables, the 2011 Subaru Outback came out on top as one of the top three wagons to provide exceptional value over five years. You can check out the award-winning Subaru Outback at Subaru Superstore – the premier Subaru dealer in Chandler, Arizona.

Subaru Superstore Report: 2012 Impreza XV Pictures Spotted
July 30, 2011 by SUBARULOVERS, under Dealership News, New Subaru Models, Subaru Impreza, Subaru Outback.
Subaru Superstore has just discovered the first pictures of the 2012 Subaru Impreza XV, which leaked on the web following a patent filing.
Rumors of an Impreza XV (which some were calling the Outback Sport) surfaced after the Shanghai Motor Show, where Subaru debuted the XV Concept pictured above. The Subaru XV Concept looks like an Outback (hence the nickname “Outback Sport”), but is a substantially smaller crossover featuring a full-length panoramic roof and “silvery white leather” seating for five.
The Outback Sport rumors seemed to have been squashed after the 2011 New York Auto Show in April, however, when Subaru’s U.S. product manager told AutoBlog: “It’s probably not for us, but we’re looking at it. And if it did come, it probably wouldn’t be called Outback Sport.”
Flash forward three months later, and it appears the new crossover is for the U.S. Subaru just filed a patent for a car it identifies as the 2012 Subaru Impreza XV, which appears to draw inspiration from the XV Concept revealed at the Shanghai Motor Show.
Going by the patent photos of the 2012 Impreza XV, the production model appears to have aggressive fascias, an increased ride height and extended fender flares. Engine options remain a mystery, but it’s assumed to have a 2.0-liter four-cylinder drive train.
The 2012 Subaru Impreza XV is likely to hit local Subaru dealers by 2012, including our Subaru dealer in Chandler, Arizona. In the meantime, check out the current and most popular Subaru crossover, the 2011 Subaru Outback, in our online inventory, or stop by our Chandler Subaru dealership this weekend to test drive it in person. The 2012 Subaru Impreza will also go on sale at out Chandler Subaru dealership November 13 when it makes its debut at the 2011 Battle of the Brands Car Show!
