Went camping with a friend Thanksgiving weekend 2010 up north of Pine.  The second night a guy came driving by and he was warning us that it was supposed to snow overnight and didn’t want us to get stuck.  He started saying “What kind of car are you guys…”, saw my Subaru Forester, and said “Oh, nevermind.  You’re good.”  I had only had my Forester for less than a month at that point, but that kind of reputation made me happy that I chose a Subaru.  Sure enough, it snowed about 3 or 4 inches by the time we left the next morning.  But my Forester had no problem with the snow and hills getting out of there.

Subaru of America, Inc. and its parent in Tokyo, Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd, are responding to the relief and recovery efforts. Fuji Heavy Industries (FHI), on behalf of all of its global subsidiaries, has made a financial contribution of $500,000 to the relief and recovery efforts, and FHI employees have personally contributed another $100,000. FHI has also donated an additional $500,000 in Robin engine products of generators, lighting units, well and construction pumps.

Subaru of America, Inc. will provide matching funds for dealer and business affiliate contributions to the American National Red Cross up to $100,000, and double matching for employee gifts under a special program.
